Futurama: Monster Robot Maniac Fun Collection

Matt Groening's now-defunct adult-tempered animated comedy "Futurama" doesn't come near the level of comic coherence as his more popular animated series "The Simpsons," but there are still plenty of laughs to be had. Groening and Executive Producer David X. Cohen have culled together here their four favorite episodes ("Hell Is Other Robots," "Anthology Of Interest I," "Roswell That Ends Well" and "The Sting"). The year is 3000 and New York City is home to cool kid Fry, hottie Cyclops Leela and a retro cigar-smoking robot named Bender as they buzz through the world of the future with an irreverent tone of existential bliss. Special features include English, Spanish and French languages with subtitles in English or Spanish, brief commentary introductions by Matt Groening and others, full-length rough draft Anamatic of "Hell Is Other Robots" with an optional commentary track. Aspect ratio is Full Frame 1.33:1, with sound presented in Dolby Digital (Shows - Two Stars, DVD features - Two Stars) Not Rated, 88 mins. (20th Century Fox)
