"The Babysitters" is a volatile satire about a group of suburban teen girls who start a private prostitution ring for the husbands and fathers of their neighbors.
Writer/director David Ross crosses a line into gratuitous exploitation by accentuating semi-pornographic settings to incite mixed emotions.
The sensual side effect could work as a way of bringing an audience into the story’s cruel discussion on human nature, but it leaves you feeling worse for the wear.
A strong performance from lead ‘Babysitter’ Shirley, Katherine Waterston gives the picture an irrefutable anchor of thematic strength stated in her unforgettable observation about American work culture, "Paid fellatio's not that much more humiliating than flipping burgers."
There's some truth that corporate doesn't want you to hear. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
