Where The Truth Lies

Director Atom Egoyan ("The Sweet Hereafter") crafts an intricate and fascinating character study based on Rupert Holmes novel. Lanny Morris (Kevin Bacon) and Vince Collins (Colin Firth) are a former ‘50s comic duo whose past comes back to haunt them when journalist Karen O’Connor (Alison Lohman) interviews them about their sudden breakup at the height of their career after a girl was found dead in their hotel room. Alison Lohman ("White Oleander") leads the brilliant ensemble cast through a scandalous murder mystery filled with more than a few surprises. Egoyan employs a keen sense of mise en scene to capture an atmosphere of ’50s and ‘60s showbiz excess that percolates beneath the story of flawed people making tragic mistakes.
